Roles & Responsibilities of a School Based Officer

I am PC6289 Bhpendra Patel (West Midlands Police) and I am the School-based Officer at Grace Academy Solihull. I am based in the Academy and you can contact me there, Monday to Friday during the school day.

My primary roles at the Academy are:
  • Dealing with the safety of students and visitors at the Academy
  • Dealing with intruders
  • Reducing truancy
  • Reducing bullying
  • Engaging in Personal, Social and Health Education
  • Citizenship
  • Public Reassurance
  • Reducing the fear of crime
  • Reducing youth crime and disorder
  • Linking with outside agencies
  • Dealing with community issues
  • Engaging with the community
  • Providing help & assistance to students and parents
  • Arrest/Restorative Justice
  • Engaging in extended schools
Under the National Safer Schools Partnership Programme I work closely with the Academy to break down barriers and establish links in the community to make a difference.
