We at Grace Academy take great pride in our building, our students and our staff. We also place great importance on standards – standards of learning, conduct and behaviour. In line with our Business and Enterprise specialism we operate a compulsory Academy uniform policy.
Our business style Academy uniform will be worn by students at all times. It fulfils three important functions; It gives the Academy a clear identity and represents a simple but effective statement of our pride and sense of community. It also avoids any stigma or competition between individuals that can occur all too easily because of designer clothes and fashion trends.
Our uniform consists of the following items:

- Plain black school skirt, pleated or plain, of an appropriate length or plain black school trousers – not jeans or fashion trousers
- Plain white cotton shirt/blouse with a button collar – not polo shirts or fashion blouses
- Plain black v-neck school pullover (optional – not sweatshirts or hooded tops)
- School tie
- Plain black school shoes – not boots, trainers or fashion shoes
- Plain black or plain white socks or plain black tights

We are unable to provide clothing grants but parents experiencing difficulties can contact our Education Welfare Officer. As students grow very quickly at this stage of their development we will operate a Clothing Exchange Scheme, where parents are able to sell or purchase good quality used uniforms in confidence by contacting the Academy Office.
